Advanced Settings

Setup your white list
Setup your white list You may setup your own white list at the "Approved Senders List" page. Or just keep the default settings, your printer will print all jobs received.

Printing email body or attachments
Printing email body or attachments Choose what you want to print at "Print Settings". If you prefer printing the email body only, please select "Print Email Body". If you want to print both email body and attachments, simply keep the default settings.

Viewing print log
Viewing print log All email print records all shown in the "Print Log" page, including date, time, sender, subject, etc.

Q1 What is Epson Connect Email Print?

A1 It is a service that allows you to print a document or photo directly to your printer's email address.

 

Q2 How does Epson Connect Email Print work?

A2 It allows a sender to print emails, sender information and/or attachments by emailing them directly to the printer's email address.

 

Q3 Does my printer support Epson Connect Email Print?

A4 Yes, it is a free service.

 

Q5 Does Epson connect Email Print support IPv6?

A5 Only IPv6 is not available in the environment. You connect in IPv4 in the dual environment of IPv4 and the IPv6.

Q6 Which email applications are supported by Epson Connect Email Print?

A6 The following applications are supported:

  • Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010

  • Apple Mail 2.0 or higher (iPhone, iPad, MacBook, MacBook Pro)
  • Blackberry Mail Client

Epson Connect Email Print may accept emails from other applications, however results may vary.

Network setting (for printer owner)

Q7 Does Epson Connect Email Print require a designated network port?

A7 Yes, it uses port 5222. You will have to ensure the port is enabled in an office network.

 

Q8 What network speed is required to use the Epson Connect Email Print Service?

A8 A minimum of 512Kbps is required to use Epson Connect Email Print. However, it is recommended that you have a 1Mbps download speed. If you are unsure of your network speed, please check with your internet provider.

Q9 What content is printed when I send an email to Epson Connect Email Print?

A9 The following is printed by default:

  • Email sender information
  • Email body
  • Attached file(s)

 

Q10 Can I only print the email attachment?

A10 Yes, you can choose to only print the email attachment. Sign in to your Epson Connect Email Print account and select Print Settings to configure this option.

Sending email

Q11 Is it necessary to connect a printer to the internet to use Epson Connect Email Print?

A11 Yes, your printer must be connected to the internet via a Wi-Fi or wired network.

 

Q12 Does Epson Connect Email Print support multiple email recipients?

A12 No. Only one email address in the TO field is supported by Email Print. Any email with multiple recipients in the TO, CC or BCC line will not be printed. This is a security feature to reduce unwanted prints on your printer.       

Use and management of services (for printer owners)

Q13 Can I change my printer's email address?

A13 Yes. Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Epson Connect Email Print.
  2. If you have more than one printer connected, select the printer from the Printer List that you want to change the email address.(If you only have one printer connected, go to step 3).
  3. Click Change Printer Email from the menu on the left.
  4. Type the new printer email address in New Printer Email Address field.
  5. Click Apply, then click OK on the confirmation screen to apply the settings.
  6. Restart your printer.A restart is necessary for your new address to be associated with your printer.You can not choose a printer email address that is already in use by another user.

 

Q14 Can I register more than one printer to Email Print account?

A14 Yes, You can add up to 10 printers to your Email Print account.

 

Q15 What should I do if the Email Print Service suddenly stops working?

A15 Please try the followings:Ensure your printer is ready to print and error-free.Check that your printer is properly connected to your wired or wireless network.Make sure that your internet service is functioning correctly.If the Approved Senders List is enabled, try sending an email from an approved email address.If the service is still unavailable, please contact Epson Support.

Q16 What kind of file attachments does Epson Connect Email Print support?

A16 Epson Connect Email Print supports the following file types:

  • Word (doc, docx)
  • Excel (xls, xlsx)
  • PowerPoint (ppt, pptx)
  • PDF
  • JPEG
  • BMP
  • GIF
  • PNG
  • TIFF

* Epson Connect Email Print supports Microsoft Office 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, 2010.

* If the file type is unsupported, please convert to PDF.

* The following files cannot be printed:

  • A file with a password
  • A file with a digital signature
  • A file that has been set to prohibit printing
  • An encrypted file

 

Q17 Can Epson Connect Email Print print encrypted files?

A17 No, it cannot print encrypted files. For other file types that cannot be printed, please refer to Q16.

 

Q18 Is there a size limitation for file attachments? How many files can be attached to one email?

A18 Yes, Epson Connect Epson Email Print will only print file attachment(s) up to a total of 10MB. If you exceed 10MBs, nothing will be printed.For the attachment, Epson Connect Email Print can print up to 10 attachments. (Under 10MB total) When the number of attachments exceeds 10, nothing will be printed.

 

Q19 Only image files are printed. It doesn't print my document files. What should I do?

A19 You have Photo Paper Printing mode enabled. Please sign in to your Epson Connect Email Print account and check the Print Settings page to turn off Photo Paper Printing mode.

If your printer is in Photo Paper Mode, it can only print the following file types:

  • JPEG
  • TIFF
  • BMP
  • GIF
  • PNG

 

Q20 What happens to the print jobs if the printer is off or out of paper?

A20 When the printer is off or out of paper, emails sent to the printer will be stored for 72 hours. After 72 hours, the pending print jobs are deleted.

Printing result

Q21 When I send emails to my printer, the graphics do not print. Instead I see boxes with a red "x". What should I do?

A21 At the current time, the graphics contained in HTML email messages cannot be printed using the Epson Email Print service. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Please print your original email directly to your Epson printer from your computer.

Q22 How do I receive notification emails?

A22 Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Email Print account.
  2. Select your Notification Email Settings page.
  3. Check the email notifications settings you want to enable.

Security of Epson Connect Email Print service

Q23 Can anyone send emails to my printer?

A23 Yes, the default setting allows anyone who knows your printer's email address to send emails and attachments for printing. To limit who can print to your printer, please enable the Approved Senders List. You can add or remove sender email addresses and domains from the Approved Senders List at any time.

 

Q24 How secure is Epson Connect Email Print?

A24 When Epson Connect Email Print Service receives any email, it will run both a spam filter and a virus check before sending it to your printer.

Control

Q25 I forgot my password. What should I do?

A25 Click on the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page. A temporary password will be generated and sent to your email address.

 

Q26 Can I change the language on the Epson Connect Email Print page?

A26 Yes. Sign in to your Email Print account and select Account Information in the upper right of your screen.

Printer registration

Q27 The Epson Connect Email Print Printer Setup tool cannot find my printer. What should I do?

A27 Make sure that a printer is not performing another operation when Epson Connect Email Print is searching for it. Be sure that the printer is connected to the network. If you are unable to connect to the network, please try running the EpsonNet Setup tool again.

 

Q28 Registration failed with the Epson Connect Email Print Printer Setup tool. What should I do?

A28 When connecting to the internet, it might be necessary to set the DNS/Proxy server depending on network environment. In the DNS/ proxy setting window of Epson Connect Printer Setup, click Acquire Settings from the Computer. If this doesn't work, please contact your network administrator.

 

Q29 Can I set the certification password of proxy server on Epson Connect Printer Setup?

A29 You cannot set certification password of proxy in Epson Connect Setup. Please use EpsonNet Config to setup it.

Network connection

Q30 What does the "XMPP Status" mean on the network status sheet?

A30 None XMPP Status may have stopped due to an HTTPS connection error. Please check the HTTPS Status.
DNS Server Not Found Failed to access to the DNS server. Please check your Internet connection is working correctly and DNS server settings of your printer are correct.
Domain Name Not Resolved Failed to resolve the DNS domain name. Please contact your network administrator for assistance.
Proxy Server Not Found Proxy Server Not Found
Rejected by Proxy Server Failed to connect to the proxy server. Please confirm whether an XMPP (5222) port is open.
XMPP Server Not Found Your internet connection or Epson Connect Email Print is temporarily unavailable.
Server Error Epson Connect Email Print is currently unavailable.

Q31 What does the "HTTPS Status" mean on the network status?

A31 None HTTP Status may have stopped due to an XMPP connection error. Please check the XMPP Status.
DNS Server Failed to access to the DNS server. Please check your
Not Found Internet connection is working correctly and DNS server settings of your printer are correct.
Domain Name Not Resolved Failed to resolve the DNS domain name. Please contact your network administrator for assistance.
Proxy Server Not Found Cannot access the proxy server. Please check the proxy server settings.
